Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and passionate UX Researcher to join our dynamic team, focusing specifically on user testing initiatives for Pinterest’s innovative platform. In this 100% remote role, you will be instrumental in understanding user behavior, identifying pain points, and uncovering opportunities to enhance the Pinterest experience. You will design and execute comprehensive user testing studies, analyze qualitative and quantitative data, and translate insights into actionable recommendations for product and design teams. This role requires a deep commitment to user advocacy, a strong methodological background in user research, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, plan, and conduct a variety of user research studies, including usability testing, interviews, surveys, and remote unmoderated tests.
- Recruit and manage participants for user testing sessions, ensuring diverse representation.
- Analyze qualitative and quantitative data to identify key user behaviors, needs, and pain points across various user segments.
- Synthesize research findings into clear, concise, and actionable recommendations for product and design teams.
- Present research insights to stakeholders at various levels, effectively communicating user needs and impact on product strategy.
- Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and engineers throughout the product development lifecycle, from ideation to launch.
- Develop and maintain a robust repository of research insights, methodologies, and best practices.
- Advocate for the user in all product decisions, ensuring a user-centered approach is consistently applied.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in UX research, specifically with a strong focus on user testing methodologies (moderated and unmoderated).
- Expertise in designing and conducting various research methods (e.g., usability testing, interviews, surveys, card sorting, tree testing).
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex qualitative and quantitative data and draw meaningful conclusions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present research findings clearly and persuasively to diverse audiences.
- Proficiency with user research tools (e.g., UserTesting.com, Qualtrics, Dovetail, Figma for prototypes, Miro for collaboration).
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a remote environment with minimal supervision.
- Deep understanding of user-centered design principles and their application in product development.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree or PhD in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Psychology, Anthropology, Sociology, or a related field.
- Experience working on large-scale consumer-facing products with millions of active users.
- Familiarity with visual discovery platforms or social media products and their unique user behaviors.
- Ability to conduct basic statistical analysis on quantitative data using tools like R or Python.
- Experience with international user research, understanding cultural nuances in user behavior.
