Job Description
We are seeking a highly meticulous and analytical Portfolio Data Annotator with a strong focus on investment data to join our remote team. In this critical role, you will be responsible for accurately annotating and categorizing complex financial data related to investment portfolios, market trends, and news. Your work will directly support our data science, AI, and investment analysis teams, ensuring the quality and integrity of the data used for critical decision-making. This is a 100% remote position, allowing you to work from anywhere within the United States, collaborating virtually with a dynamic and innovative team.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately annotate and tag various types of financial data, including portfolio holdings, transaction details, market news, earnings reports, and sentiment data, following established guidelines.
- Ensure the consistency, quality, and completeness of annotated datasets used for training machine learning models and analytical tools.
- Collaborate closely with data scientists, engineers, and investment professionals to understand project requirements and provide insights into data characteristics.
- Participate in the development and refinement of annotation guidelines and taxonomies to improve data quality and efficiency.
- Identify and report data discrepancies, anomalies, or potential issues to relevant teams for resolution.
- Maintain strict adherence to data privacy, security, and compliance policies.
- Provide constructive feedback on annotation tools and processes to drive continuous improvement.
Required Skills
- Exceptional attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy in data entry and analysis.
- Basic understanding of financial markets, investment products, and portfolio concepts.
- Proficiency with data annotation platforms or similar data entry tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines in a remote environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field, or equivalent practical experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- 1+ years of experience in data annotation, data entry, data quality assurance, or a similar role, preferably within the financial services industry.
- Familiarity with financial data providers such as Bloomberg, Refinitiv (LSEG), or FactSet.
- Experience with SQL or basic scripting (e.g., Python) for data querying or manipulation.
- Demonstrated interest in artificial intelligence, machine learning, and their applications in finance.
