Job Description
We are seeking experienced Regional Flatbed Drivers to join our team based out of Pasco, WA. This is a crucial role responsible for the safe and timely transportation of diverse freight, primarily requiring flatbed securement and tarping. As a Regional Driver, you will operate within a designated multi-state area, ensuring predictable home time and consistent mileage. Key Responsibilities
- Operate commercial motor vehicles (CMVs) safely and efficiently, adhering to all DOT regulations and company policies.
- Secure various types of flatbed freight using straps, chains, binders, and other appropriate equipment.
- Perform tarping duties as required to protect cargo from weather and road elements, ensuring proper fit and securement.
- Conduct pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections of the tractor-trailer unit and report any defects.
- Ensure accurate and timely delivery of freight to designated locations.
- Maintain electronic logs (ELDs) in compliance with federal regulations.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and other team members regarding load status, delays, and issues.
- Adhere to all safety protocols, including hazardous material handling if applicable.
- Represent Knight-Swift Transportation professionally at all times.
Required Skills
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL-A).
- Minimum of 2 years verifiable commercial driving experience.
- At least 1 year of recent flatbed driving experience.
- Demonstrated proficiency in load securement and tarping techniques.
- Clean driving record (MVR) with no major preventable accidents or violations.
- Ability to pass a DOT physical and drug screen.
- Strong understanding of FMCSA regulations.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with various types of flatbed commodities (e.g., building materials, machinery, steel).
- Knowledge of regional routes in the Pacific Northwest.
- Familiarity with electronic logging devices (ELDs) and transportation management software.
