Job Description
We are seeking a motivated and physically robust individual to join our hardscaping team as a Retaining Wall Block Carrier. This role is crucial to the successful and efficient installation of retaining walls, involving the manual handling and precise placement of heavy hardscape blocks. You will work as part of a skilled crew, contributing to various landscaping projects that enhance outdoor environments. This is a demanding but rewarding role for someone who thrives in a physical, outdoor work setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Manually lift, carry, and position heavy retaining wall blocks and other hardscaping materials as directed.
- Assist skilled installers with the setup and preparation of retaining wall foundations.
- Ensure accurate alignment and leveling of blocks under supervision.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to all company safety protocols.
- Operate basic hand tools and power equipment safely and efficiently.
- Collaborate effectively with team members to meet project deadlines and quality standards.
- Perform general site labor and cleanup tasks as required.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards to the site supervisor immediately.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 50 lbs consistently) for extended periods.
- Strong physical stamina and endurance for outdoor work in various weather conditions.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions effectively.
- Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to all PPE requirements.
- Reliable transportation to and from job sites in the Hinckley area.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a physical labor role, construction, or landscaping.
- Familiarity with hardscaping materials and techniques.
- Basic understanding of construction site safety.
