Job Description
Are you a compassionate and engaging individual with a passion for enriching the lives of others? BrightStar Care is seeking a dedicated Senior Companion to join our team in Omaha. In this vital social role, you will provide non-medical companionship, emotional support, and assistance with daily activities to our senior clients, fostering a sense of connection and well-being. This position offers a flexible roster, allowing for work-life balance while making a significant impact. As a Senior Companion, you will be a trusted friend and support system, helping clients maintain their independence and enjoy their daily lives.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide engaging companionship and social interaction to clients.
- Assist with light household tasks such as meal preparation, tidying up, and laundry.
- Accompany clients on outings, appointments, and social events.
- Engage clients in stimulating activities such as reading, games, hobbies, and conversation.
- Offer emotional support and active listening.
- Remind clients to take medications (non-administering).
- Assist with personal care as needed (e.g., grooming, dressing), ensuring dignity and respect.
- Observe and report any changes in the client's condition or behavior to the care coordinator.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of services provided.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, ensuring client safety and satisfaction.

- Certification in First Aid and CPR.
- Knowledge of basic nutrition and meal preparation for seniors.
- Ability to adapt to various client personalities and needs.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
