Job Description

Lamar Advertising Company in Des Moines is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Signage Installer Helper to join our dynamic team. This entry-level position is perfect for individuals with no prior experience who are eager to learn the ropes of outdoor advertising installation. You will work alongside experienced technicians, assisting with the installation, maintenance, and repair of various signage, including billboards and digital displays. This role requires a strong work ethic, a commitment to safety, and the ability to thrive in varying weather conditions. Key Responsibilities
- Assist lead installers with the safe and efficient installation of outdoor advertising structures, including billboards, posters, and digital displays.
- Prepare installation sites by gathering materials, tools, and equipment.
- Perform basic maintenance and repair tasks on existing signage, such as cleaning, painting, and replacing components.
- Operate hand and power tools under supervision.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and working at heights.
- Help load and unload materials from company vehicles.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment and company vehicles.
- Learn and apply best practices for signage installation and maintenance.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.
Required Skills
- Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting up to 50 lbs, climbing ladders, and working at heights.
- Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions (hot, cold, rain, snow).
- Strong work ethic and a positive, can-do attitude.
- Willingness to learn and take direction from experienced team members.
- Basic understanding of safety principles.
- Reliable transportation to and from the job site.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Previous experience with hand and power tools.
- Mechanical aptitude.
