Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Records Management Specialist with a strong focus on Digital Archiving to join our team. This fully remote position is crucial for maintaining the integrity, accessibility, and security of Google’s digital assets and information. The ideal candidate will have experience in developing and implementing digital records management policies, systems, and procedures, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements. You will play a key role in the lifecycle management of electronic records, from creation and capture to preservation and disposition, within a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain digital records management policies and procedures in accordance with internal standards and external regulations.
- Manage the end-to-end lifecycle of electronic records, including classification, indexing, storage, retrieval, and disposition.
- Administer and optimize digital archiving systems and tools, ensuring data integrity and accessibility.
- Collaborate with various internal departments to identify and address records management needs and challenges.
- Provide training and support to staff on digital records management best practices and system usage.
- Conduct regular audits of digital records to ensure compliance and identify areas for improvement.
- Participate in the evaluation and selection of new technologies for digital records management and archiving.
- Ensure the security and confidentiality of sensitive digital information.
Required Skills
- Minimum 2 years of experience in records management or digital archiving.
- Proven experience with digital records management systems and technologies.
- Strong understanding of records retention schedules and legal/regulatory compliance (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, SOX).
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects in a remote setting.
- Proficiency in Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Drive, etc.).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Library Science, Information Management, Archival Studies, or a related field.
- Certification in Records Management (CRM) or Digital Archives Specialist (DAS).
- Experience with large-scale enterprise content management (ECM) systems.
- Familiarity with data governance principles and practices.
- Experience in a global technology company environment.
