Job Description
We are seeking a highly accomplished and passionate Specialized Piano Instructor to join our esteemed faculty. This role is ideal for a dedicated professional eager to provide advanced piano instruction within a private conservatory setting. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching private lessons, preparing students for recitals and competitions, and contributing to the overall artistic development of our talented student body. This position demands exceptional pedagogical skills, a profound understanding of piano repertoire and technique, and a commitment to nurturing the next generation of pianists. This is an on-site position within our Grand Prairie facilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide individualized, specialized piano instruction to students of varying ages and skill levels, from advanced beginners to pre-professional.
- Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans tailored to each student's specific needs and goals.
- Prepare students for recitals, auditions, competitions, and examinations with a focus on artistic interpretation and technical mastery.
- Guide students in repertoire selection, music theory, ear training, sight-reading, and performance practice.
- Assess student progress regularly and provide constructive feedback.
- Maintain a professional and inspiring learning environment.
- Participate in faculty meetings, student evaluations, and other conservatory events as required.
- Collaborate with other faculty members to ensure a cohesive and enriching educational experience for all students.
Required Skills
- Advanced degree in Piano Performance or Piano Pedagogy (Bachelor's minimum, Master's preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years of professional piano teaching experience in a conservatory or reputable private studio setting.
- Exceptional piano performance skills and a comprehensive understanding of piano repertoire across all historical periods.
- Proven ability to teach advanced techniques, music theory, and sight-reading.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate students.
- Patience, dedication, and a passion for music education.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative faculty environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree or Doctorate in Piano Performance or Pedagogy.
- Experience in preparing students for regional and national piano competitions.
- Active performance career or significant performance experience.
- Familiarity with various pedagogical approaches and methods.
