Job Description

We are seeking enthusiastic and customer-focused individuals to join our team as Subway / Metro Station Attendants. This is a vital customer-facing role within the Spokane Transit Authority, responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our transit stations and providing exceptional service to our diverse ridership. As a Station Attendant, you will be the first point of contact for many passengers, offering assistance, information, and maintaining a safe and welcoming environment. Key Responsibilities

  • Greet and assist passengers with ticket purchases, fare inquiries, and navigation within the station and transit system.
  • Provide accurate information regarding routes, schedules, transfers, and points of interest.
  • Monitor station platforms and concourses to ensure safety and security, reporting any unusual activities or incidents.
  • Operate station equipment, including turnstiles, vending machines, and public address systems.
  • Assist passengers with disabilities, including operating accessibility equipment and providing guidance.
  • Respond to customer complaints and resolve issues promptly and professionally, escalating when necessary.
  • Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of station areas, reporting maintenance needs.
  • Liaise with transit police, emergency services, and operational control center during emergencies.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development programs.
