Job Description
Are you looking to start a rewarding career in the auto insurance industry? State Farm is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Vehicle Damage Estimator (Trainee) in our Newark office. This entry-level position is perfect for someone eager to learn the fundamentals of vehicle damage assessment and estimation. You will receive comprehensive training and mentorship to develop the skills necessary to accurately evaluate vehicle damage, prepare repair estimates, and interact with policyholders and repair shops. No prior experience in vehicle estimation is required – we will provide all the tools and knowledge you need to succeed.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in a structured training program to learn about vehicle components, damage assessment techniques, and estimation software.
- Assist senior estimators with physical vehicle inspections and photo documentation of damage.
- Learn to review repair procedures and develop accurate repair estimates under supervision.
- Communicate effectively with policyholders regarding the damage assessment process and estimate details.
- Maintain organized records and documentation for all estimates.
- Develop a strong understanding of State Farm's policies, procedures, and ethical guidelines.
- Collaborate with body shops and internal teams to ensure timely and fair resolution of claims.
Required Skills
- High school diploma or GED.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Basic computer proficiency and willingness to learn new software.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.
- Valid driver's license and a good driving record.

- Associate's degree or some college coursework.
- Prior experience in customer service or an administrative role.
