Job Description
Allied Universal is seeking a dedicated and vigilant Weekend Security Guard to join our team in Chula Vista, CA. This part-time position focuses on night shifts, ensuring the safety and security of our client’s premises during critical weekend hours. As a Licensed SIA professional, you will be responsible for maintaining a secure environment, responding to incidents, and providing excellent customer service. This role is crucial for our operations and requires individuals with strong observational skills, a commitment to safety, and the ability to work independently.
Key Responsibilities
- Patrol premises regularly to maintain order and establish presence.
- Monitor surveillance cameras and alarm systems.
- Respond to alarms and investigate disturbances.
- Inspect buildings, equipment, and access points; permit entry.
- Apprehend trespassers and violators, providing warnings or escorting them off property.
- Write reports on daily activities and important occurrences (e.g., equipment or property damage, theft, presence of unauthorized persons).
- Protect company's property and staff by maintaining a safe and secure environment.
- Observe and report any suspicious activities or persons.
- Enforce rules, regulations, and policies of the client.
- Provide assistance to employees and visitors in a courteous and professional manner.
Required Skills
- Valid SIA License (or equivalent state security guard license in California).
- Proven experience as a security guard or in a similar role.
- Excellent knowledge of public safety and security procedures/protocols.
- Ability to operate detecting systems and emergency equipment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- High level of integrity and professionalism.
- Proficiency in report writing and basic computer skills.
- Physical capability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods, and to respond to emergencies.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- First Aid and CPR certification.
- Previous experience in a night shift or weekend security role.
- Familiarity with security software and CCTV systems.
