Job Description
We are seeking a diligent and efficient Picker Packer to join our dynamic team at our state-of-the-art logistics hub in Rotherham, South Yorkshire. This role is crucial for ensuring the accurate and timely processing of customer orders. You will be responsible for picking items from designated locations, carefully packing them for shipment, and preparing them for dispatch. Attention to detail, a strong work ethic, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment are essential. This is an on-site role within a busy warehouse setting, requiring physical stamina and a commitment to safety and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately pick items from shelves using handheld scanners or other equipment.
- Inspect products for quality and damage before packing.
- Pack items securely and efficiently into appropriate packaging.
- Label packages accurately and prepare them for shipment.
- Maintain a clean and organised work area, adhering to 5S principles.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies at all times.
- Assist with inventory management and stock rotation as required.
- Work collaboratively with team members and supervisors to achieve daily targets and maintain operational flow.
Required Skills
- Ability to read and understand instructions in English.
- Basic numeracy skills for counting and verification.
- Physical stamina and ability to lift up to 15kg regularly.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout a shift.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a warehouse, logistics, or similar environment.
- Experience using handheld scanners or warehouse management systems (WMS).
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a diverse team.
- Familiarity with health and safety regulations in a warehouse setting.
