Job Description
We are seeking experienced and dedicated Linehaul Solo Drivers to join our team in Corpus Christi, Texas. This position offers a guaranteed minimum weekly pay, ensuring stability and peace of mind for our drivers. As a Linehaul Solo Driver, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of freight between service centers, playing a critical role in our extensive logistics network. You will operate state-of-the-art equipment and uphold FedEx Freight’s commitment to safety and timely delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate a commercial motor vehicle (tractor-trailer) in accordance with DOT regulations and company policies.
- Transport freight efficiently and securely between FedEx Freight service centers.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles and equipment.
- Maintain accurate logbooks and submit all required documentation.
- Adhere to all federal, state, and local traffic laws.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and management.
- Ensure freight is loaded and unloaded safely when necessary.
- Represent FedEx Freight professionally at all times.
Required Skills
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with hazardous materials, tank, and double/triple endorsements.
- Minimum of 2 years (24 months) verifiable tractor-trailer driving experience.
- Clean motor vehicle record (MVR).
- Ability to lift, push, pull, or carry freight that weighs up to 70 pounds.
- Proficient in pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
- Strong understanding of DOT regulations and safety procedures.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Commitment to safety and customer service.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience with LTL freight transportation.
- Familiarity with the Corpus Christi and surrounding regional routes.
