Job Description
We are seeking a diligent and physically capable Laundry Porter to join our industrial laundry team in Leicester. This essential role involves the efficient movement, sorting, and processing of large volumes of linen within a fast-paced industrial environment. The successful candidate will play a crucial part in ensuring a steady supply of clean linen for our hotels, upholding our commitment to cleanliness and guest satisfaction. You will be responsible for operating machinery, managing inventory, and maintaining a safe and organized workspace.
Key Responsibilities
- Efficiently sort, count, and categorize soiled linen upon arrival.
- Load and unload industrial washing machines and dryers.
- Transport clean and soiled linen using carts, trolleys, or other designated equipment.
- Fold, stack, and prepare clean linen for distribution to various departments.
- Monitor laundry equipment for proper function and report any malfunctions.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization within the laundry facility, including sweeping, mopping, and waste disposal.
- Adhere strictly to all health and safety regulations and company policies.
- Assist with inventory management and quality control of linen.
- Collaborate effectively with team members to ensure smooth operations.
Required Skills
- Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy loads (up to 25kg) repeatedly.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods.
- Strong attention to detail for sorting and quality control.
- Ability to follow instructions accurately and efficiently.
- Good teamwork and communication skills.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a laundry or industrial environment.
