Job Description
As a Lead Pharmacy Technician at CVS Health in Wesley Chapel, Florida, you will play a pivotal role in our pharmacy operations. This management opportunity involves overseeing daily technician tasks, ensuring efficient workflow, and providing exceptional patient care. You will be responsible for leading by example, fostering a positive team environment, and contributing to the overall success of the pharmacy. This role requires a highly organized, detail-oriented, and customer-focused individual with a passion for healthcare.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of pharmacy technicians, providing guidance and training.
- Assist the Pharmacist in managing daily workflow, including prescription processing, dispensing, and inventory management.
- Ensure accurate and efficient prescription fulfillment and patient medication preparation.
- Maintain proper inventory levels, conduct regular stock checks, and manage returns.
- Handle customer inquiries, resolve issues, and provide excellent patient service.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local pharmacy laws and regulations, as well as company policies.
- Assist with the training and onboarding of new pharmacy technicians.
- Perform all duties of a Pharmacy Technician, including data entry, packaging, and compounding as needed.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Required Skills
- Current Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) from PTCB or NHA
- Active Pharmacy Technician license/registration in the state of Florida
- Proven leadership abilities and experience in a supervisory or lead role
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
- Proficiency in pharmacy computer systems and basic office software
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make sound decisions
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field
- 3+ years of experience as a Pharmacy Technician in a retail setting
- Experience with CVS Health pharmacy systems and procedures
- Bilingual proficiency (e.g., Spanish) is a plus
