Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Night Porter to join our team at Best Western Plus Hotel Universel Drummondville. This is an excellent entry-level opportunity for individuals looking to start a career in hospitality, as full training will be provided. As a Night Porter, you will be crucial in ensuring the safety, security, and comfort of our guests during the overnight hours. Your responsibilities will include assisting guests, handling late check-ins/early check-outs, performing light cleaning duties, and maintaining the overall quiet and orderly operation of the hotel. Key Responsibilities

  • Manage late guest arrivals and early departures efficiently and courteously.
  • Perform security rounds throughout the hotel premises to ensure guest safety and property security.
  • Address guest inquiries and requests, providing excellent customer service during night hours.
  • Handle minor incidents or emergencies, escalating as necessary to management.
  • Assist with light cleaning and setup tasks in public areas, ensuring the hotel is ready for the morning shift.
  • Monitor security cameras and alarm systems.
  • Prepare simple continental breakfast items or setup if required.
  • Process end-of-day reports and audits.
  • Maintain a calm and professional demeanor at all times.

Required Skills

  • Ability to work independently and reliably during night shifts.
  • Strong attention to detail and observational skills.
  • Basic computer proficiency for administrative tasks.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A positive attitude and willingness to learn.
  • Ability to lift and carry moderate weights (up to 25 lbs) and stand for extended periods.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a customer service role is a plus, but not required.
  • Fluency in French and English.
  • Knowledge of hotel property management systems (e.g., Opera) is a bonus.
