Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and analytical Think Tank Associate to join our dynamic team in Visalia. This is an immediate hire opportunity with a comprehensive relocation package for qualified candidates. As a Think Tank Associate, you will contribute to critical research projects, analyze complex data, and help shape actionable policy recommendations that address pressing societal issues. You will work within a collaborative environment, supporting senior researchers and contributing to various stages of the research lifecycle, from conceptualization to dissemination.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct in-depth qualitative and quantitative research on assigned policy areas.
- Collect, clean, and analyze complex datasets using appropriate statistical and analytical software.
- Prepare comprehensive research briefs, reports, presentations, and other deliverables for internal and external stakeholders.
- Assist in the development of research proposals, methodologies, and project plans.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, contributing to a collegial and intellectually stimulating environment.
- Engage with subject matter experts, policymakers, and other stakeholders as required.
- Maintain accurate and organized research documentation and data.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Public Policy, Economics, Political Science, Sociology, Data Science, or a related field.
- 2+ years of professional experience in research, policy analysis, consulting, or a related analytical role.
- Demonstrated proficiency in research methodologies (qualitative and quantitative).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and draw sound conclusions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of conveying complex information clearly and concisely.
- Proficiency with analytical tools and software (e.g., Excel, SPSS, R, Python, Stata).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in a relevant field.
- Experience with grant writing or proposal development.
- Specific domain knowledge in areas such as national security, education, health policy, or social welfare.
- Experience with advanced statistical modeling or econometric analysis.
