Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Shopify Developer with a strong focus on Liquid programming to join our dynamic e-commerce team. As a Senior Liquid Programmer, you will play a pivotal role in developing, enhancing, and maintaining our Shopify Plus storefronts, ensuring a seamless, high-performance, and visually appealing online shopping experience for our global community. This is a remote position, offering the flexibility to work from anywhere within Canada. You will collaborate closely with designers, product managers, and other developers to translate creative visions into robust and scalable e-commerce solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement custom Shopify themes and sections using Liquid, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Optimize Shopify store performance, user experience, and conversion rates.
- Integrate third-party applications and APIs to extend Shopify functionality.
- Collaborate with design and UX teams to ensure technical feasibility and optimal user interface implementation.
- Perform code reviews, maintain high coding standards, and implement best practices for Shopify development.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Shopify themes, apps, and integrations.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest Shopify features, industry trends, and development tools.
- Mentor junior developers and contribute to the overall technical growth of the team.
Required Skills
- 5+ years of professional experience as a Shopify Developer.
- Expert-level proficiency in Shopify Liquid templating language.
- Strong command of HTML5, CSS3 (Sass/SCSS), and JavaScript (ES6+).
- Experience with Shopify Plus and its advanced features (e.g., Scripts, Flow, APIs).
- Proficiency with Git version control.
- Familiarity with responsive design principles and cross-browser compatibility.
- Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Web Development, or a related field.
- Experience with front-end frameworks (e.g., React, Vue.js) in a Shopify context.
- Familiarity with GraphQL and RESTful APIs.
- Experience with SEO best practices for e-commerce.
- Understanding of web performance optimization techniques.
- Experience with A/B testing implementation on Shopify.
