Job Description
BrightView Landscapes is seeking a dedicated and physically capable individual to join our team as a Weekend Landscaping Aide. This part-time position is ideal for those who enjoy working outdoors and are looking for weekend employment. You will assist our experienced landscaping crews with various tasks to maintain and beautify properties in the Garland area. This role requires manual labor and a commitment to quality work.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform general landscape duties such as mowing, weeding, planting, trimming, and pruning.
- Operate basic landscaping equipment safely, including mowers, trimmers, and blowers.
- Haul and dispose of landscape debris, including branches, leaves, and other waste.
- Assist with the installation of new plant material, mulch, and other landscape features.
- Ensure all work areas are clean and organized at the end of each shift.
- Follow all safety procedures and guidelines.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.
Required Skills
- Ability to perform physical labor for extended periods, including lifting, bending, stooping, and kneeling.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work effectively in various weather conditions (heat, cold, rain).
- Basic understanding of landscape maintenance practices.
- Willingness to learn and follow instructions.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in landscaping or general outdoor labor.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Experience operating commercial landscaping equipment.
- Knowledge of local plant varieties and care.
