Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Sustainability Assistant with a passion for Green Tech to join our innovative team. This fully remote position will support our sustainability initiatives, focusing on data analysis, research, and project coordination related to environmental impact, renewable energy, and sustainable practices within our operations and product lifecycles. You will play a crucial role in advancing Microsoft’s commitment to a sustainable future.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the collection, organization, and analysis of sustainability data, including energy consumption, waste generation, and carbon emissions.
- Conduct research on emerging green technologies, sustainable best practices, and relevant environmental regulations.
- Prepare reports, presentations, and communication materials to convey sustainability performance and project updates.
- Support the coordination of internal sustainability projects and initiatives, ensuring timely execution and reporting.
- Collaborate with various internal teams to gather information and promote sustainability awareness.
- Maintain documentation and tracking systems for sustainability metrics and compliance requirements.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI).
- Strong research and analytical skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a remote team.
- Foundational understanding of environmental sustainability principles or green technology.
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with sustainability reporting frameworks (e.g., GRI, SASB).
- Experience with project management tools.
- Exposure to renewable energy projects or carbon accounting methodologies.
- Prior internship or volunteer experience in a sustainability-related role.
