Job Description
Join DHL Supply Chain as a Picker Packer and become an essential part of our high-volume logistics operation in Beeston. In this role, you will be responsible for accurately picking, packing, and preparing orders for shipment, contributing directly to our promise of delivering excellence to customers worldwide. This position requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately pick products from warehouse locations based on order requirements using handheld scanners or voice picking systems.
- Efficiently pack items into appropriate containers, ensuring product safety and optimal space utilization.
- Prepare completed orders for shipment, including labeling, weighing, and staging.
- Perform quality checks on picked and packed items to ensure accuracy and prevent errors.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Operate warehouse equipment (e.g., pallet jacks, pump trucks) safely and efficiently, if trained.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations and company policies.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet daily productivity and accuracy targets.
Required Skills
- Ability to work accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Good physical stamina and ability to lift up to 20kg repeatedly.
- Basic numeracy and literacy skills.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a warehouse or logistics environment, particularly in picking and packing.
- Experience with handheld scanners or warehouse management systems (WMS).
- Certification or experience operating MHE (Material Handling Equipment) such as pallet trucks or forklifts (though not essential for initial hire).
