Job Description
As a Wellbeing Project Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the planning, implementation, and evaluation of community-focused wellbeing initiatives within the Vaughan area. This hybrid role requires a passionate individual dedicated to making a tangible difference in the lives of community members by assisting with project coordination, stakeholder engagement, and administrative tasks. You will work closely with the Project Manager and community partners to ensure projects are delivered effectively and align with our strategic goals to foster healthier, more resilient communities. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute directly to impactful social programs and develop skills in community development within a supportive non-profit environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the coordination and implementation of wellbeing projects, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to project plans.
- Support stakeholder engagement, including liaising with community partners, volunteers, and local residents.
- Conduct research and gather data to inform project planning, reporting, and evaluation.
- Prepare project-related documentation, reports, presentations, and correspondence.
- Organize and support community meetings, workshops, and events (logistics, attendance, materials).
- Manage project schedules, track progress, and help identify potential risks or issues.
- Support communication efforts, including drafting content for newsletters, social media, and project updates.
- Perform general administrative duties to ensure smooth project operations.
Required Skills
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Demonstrated passion for community development and social justice.
- Ability to interact positively and professionally with diverse community members.
Preferred Qualifications
- A post-secondary degree or diploma in Social Work, Community Development, Public Health, Non-Profit Management, or a related field.
- Previous experience (volunteer or paid) in a non-profit, community-based, or social service setting.
- Familiarity with the Vaughan community and its unique needs.
- Experience with project management tools or methodologies.
- Bilingualism (e.g., English and French, or other relevant community languages).
