Job Description
We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented UPS Lab Assistant to join our dynamic scientific environment in Aurora, IL. This role is crucial in supporting our research and development initiatives, ensuring the smooth operation of our laboratory by providing essential assistance to scientists and technicians. The successful candidate will contribute to maintaining high standards of laboratory organization, safety, and efficiency, playing a vital part in our mission to discover and deliver life-changing health solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist scientists with routine laboratory procedures, experiments, and data collection.
- Prepare and sterilize laboratory equipment, glassware, and reagents.
- Maintain accurate inventory of supplies, chemicals, and samples.
- Perform basic equipment calibration and preventative maintenance.
- Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols and good laboratory practices (GLP).
- Record experimental data and observations accurately in lab notebooks or electronic systems.
- Assist in the disposal of hazardous and non-hazardous waste according to established guidelines.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment.
Required Skills
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Basic understanding of laboratory safety and procedures.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to follow precise instructions and protocols.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a scientific field (Biology, Chemistry, Biotechnology, etc.).
- 1+ year of experience working in a laboratory setting.
- Familiarity with GMP/GLP regulations.
- Experience with specific laboratory equipment (e.g., centrifuges, pH meters, autoclaves).
