Job Description
Join the Cintas team as a Laundry Assistant in our Markham facility, where you will play a crucial role in the efficient processing of industrial laundry. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals seeking stable, full-time employment in a dynamic industrial setting. You will be responsible for performing routine tasks associated with washing, drying, folding, and preparing various textiles, ensuring high standards of cleanliness and operational flow. No prior laundry experience is necessary, as comprehensive training will be provided.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate industrial washing and drying machines according to established procedures.
- Sort and categorize soiled linens, uniforms, and other textiles based on type and washing requirements.
- Load and unload laundry machines efficiently and safely.
- Fold, press, and package clean items for delivery or storage.
- Perform quality checks on finished laundry to ensure cleanliness and proper handling.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to all safety and hygiene protocols.
- Assist with inventory counts and material handling as needed.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding production flow and issues.
Required Skills
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.
- Physical stamina to lift and move laundry bags, up to 50 lbs.
- Basic understanding of workplace safety procedures.
- Strong attention to detail for sorting and quality control.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Reliability and a strong work ethic.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a manufacturing, warehouse, or industrial laundry setting.
- Experience operating industrial machinery.
- Basic literacy skills (reading labels and instructions).
