Job Description
Are you passionate about pets and have a knack for leadership? Pet Valu is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Dog Daycare Supervisor to join our vibrant team in Saskatoon. This role is perfect for an individual who thrives in a high-energy environment, loves interacting with dogs of all breeds and sizes, and is dedicated to ensuring their safety and happiness. As a supervisor, you will oversee daily daycare operations, lead a team of dedicated pet care specialists, and maintain a fun, clean, and stimulating environment for our canine guests.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and manage the daily activities of the dog daycare facility, ensuring a safe and engaging environment for all dogs.
- Lead, train, and mentor a team of pet care specialists, fostering a positive and collaborative work atmosphere.
- Implement and enforce all safety protocols, dog handling procedures, and sanitation standards.
- Monitor dog behavior, identify potential conflicts, and intervene appropriately to prevent incidents.
- Administer basic first aid to dogs as needed and ensure prompt communication with pet parents.
- Manage client check-ins and check-outs, maintain accurate records, and handle client inquiries and feedback professionally.
- Oversee facility cleanliness, ensuring all areas are tidy, disinfected, and well-maintained.
- Assist with scheduling, inventory management, and other administrative tasks as required.
Required Skills
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a dog daycare, boarding, or animal care setting.
- Proven leadership or supervisory experience.
- Strong understanding of dog behavior, body language, and group dynamics.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle dogs of all sizes and temperaments safely and effectively.
- Reliable, responsible, and a true team player.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, sometimes noisy, and physically demanding environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certification in Pet First Aid and CPR.
- Knowledge of various dog training techniques and positive reinforcement methods.
- Experience with kennel management software.
