Job Description
Join Carpetright Plc, the UK’s leading flooring retailer, as a Carpet Padding Installer, assisting our specialist professionals in delivering high-quality installations to our valued customers. This is an exciting opportunity to learn a valuable trade and become an integral part of our fitting team in Greenwich, London. As a Carpet Padding Installer, you will work alongside experienced fitters, gaining hands-on experience in all aspects of carpet and underlay installation. We are looking for an enthusiastic individual who is keen to learn, physically capable, and committed to providing excellent service. While previous experience is beneficial, it is not essential, as comprehensive training will be provided.
Key Responsibilities
- Assisting specialist carpet fitters with the preparation and installation of carpet padding and various flooring types.
- Measuring, cutting, and securing carpet underlay and other materials accurately.
- Preparing subfloors for installation, ensuring they are clean, level, and ready.
- Transporting tools and materials to and from job sites.
- Maintaining tools and equipment in good working order.
- Ensuring a high standard of finish and cleanliness on all installations.
- Communicating effectively with customers and team members to ensure smooth project execution.
- Adhering to all health and safety guidelines on site.

- Physical fitness and ability to lift heavy materials and work in various postures.
- Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to tasks.
- A proactive attitude and willingness to learn new skills and techniques.
- Basic numeracy skills for accurate measurements.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a manual labour or trade assistant role.
- A valid UK driving licence.
- Basic knowledge of hand and power tools.
- An understanding of different flooring materials and installation methods.
