Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and safety-conscious Crane Operator to join our dynamic construction team in Bend, Oregon. The Crane Operator will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of various types of cranes to hoist and move materials, equipment, or heavy objects on our construction sites. This role requires precision, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to safety protocols. Key Responsibilities
- Operate hydraulic, lattice boom, and other types of cranes safely and efficiently.
- Inspect crane machinery daily to ensure operational safety and identify any maintenance needs.
- Set up, level, and stabilize cranes for lifting operations.
- Read and interpret load charts, crane specifications, and hoisting plans.
- Direct and coordinate the work of riggers and signal persons during lifting operations.
- Monitor weather conditions, site hazards, and surrounding environment during lifts.
- Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on crane equipment.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and industry best practices.
- Maintain accurate logs of crane operations, inspections, and maintenance.
- Communicate effectively with project managers, supervisors, and other team members.
Required Skills
- NCCCO or equivalent recognized crane operator certification.
- Proven experience operating various types of cranes (e.g., hydraulic, lattice boom).
- Thorough understanding of crane mechanics, rigging techniques, and load dynamics.
- Strong knowledge of safety regulations and best practices related to crane operation.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and load charts.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work independently and make critical decisions under pressure.
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- 5+ years of experience as a certified Crane Operator in commercial or heavy civil construction.
- Experience with different crane manufacturers and models.
- First Aid/CPR certification.
