Job Description
Are you passionate about empowering young people and skilled at creating dynamic online environments? Pearson is seeking an enthusiastic and engaging Online Virtual Host to lead webinars and virtual events specifically designed for 15-year-old teens. In this remote, part-time role, you will be the face and voice of our online programs, fostering an interactive and positive experience for participants. Key Responsibilities
- Host and moderate live online webinars and virtual events tailored for 15-year-old teens.
- Engage participants actively through polls, Q&A sessions, chat features, and interactive activities.
- Ensure a positive, safe, and inclusive virtual environment for all attendees.
- Introduce speakers, manage event flow, and adhere to event schedules.
- Troubleshoot minor technical issues during live events and provide basic user support.
- Collaborate with content creators and event planners to understand objectives and content.
- Gather feedback from participants to continuously improve future events.
- Familiarize yourself with event content and objectives prior to each session.
Required Skills
- Exceptional verbal communication and presentation skills.
- Proven ability to engage and interact effectively with young audiences (ages 13-17).
- Proficiency with virtual event platforms (e.g., Zoom Webinar, Microsoft Teams, Webex).
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to adapt quickly to live event challenges and maintain a calm demeanor.
- Reliable high-speed internet connection and a professional home office setup.
- Empathy and a patient approach when interacting with diverse groups of teens.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in hosting virtual events, workshops, or online classes for youth.
- Background in education, youth development, or digital media.
- Familiarity with various interactive online tools and educational technologies.
- Basic knowledge of video editing or graphic design software for pre-event promotion (a plus, not required).
- Certification in youth engagement or online facilitation.
