Job Description
We are seeking a compassionate and reliable Professional Sedan Aide to join our team in Zephyrhills, FL. This part-time position is ideal for individuals looking for meaningful work during school hours, providing safe and comfortable transportation for students. As a Sedan Aide, you will be responsible for transporting students, often those with special needs, to and from school and school-related activities in a company-provided sedan. Your commitment to safety, punctuality, and a supportive environment will be paramount. This role offers the flexibility of working within school schedules, making it perfect for parents, caregivers, or anyone seeking consistent part-time employment during the academic year.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely transport students to and from school and designated locations using a company-provided sedan.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws and company safety policies.
- Assist students with boarding and alighting the vehicle as needed, ensuring their comfort and safety.
- Maintain a clean and well-maintained vehicle interior, conducting daily checks.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with students, parents, school staff, and dispatch.
- Complete daily vehicle inspections and report any maintenance needs promptly.
- Maintain accurate records of mileage, routes, and student attendance.
- Provide a supportive and positive environment for students during transport.
- Undergo and pass regular background checks and drug screenings as required.
Required Skills
- Valid Florida Driver's License with a clean driving record for at least 3 years.
- Minimum of 3 years of professional or personal driving experience.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, especially with children and parents.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment and maintain composure in various situations.
- Strong commitment to safety, punctuality, and reliability.
- Ability to pass a comprehensive background check and drug screening.
- Physical ability to assist students as needed, including securing car seats or helping with mobility aids.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with children, particularly those with special needs or diverse learning abilities.
- Current First Aid and CPR certification.
- Familiarity with Zephyrhills and surrounding Pasco County areas.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
