Job Description

Join Waste Management, Inc. as a dedicated Waste Management Driver for a significant Public Sector Contract in Wesley Chapel, Florida. This is a full-time position responsible for the safe and efficient operation of a commercial vehicle to collect and transport waste materials. You will be an essential part of our team, providing critical environmental services to the community under a contract that emphasizes reliability and community welfare. Key Responsibilities

  • Operate commercial waste collection vehicles safely and efficiently, adhering to all DOT and company regulations.
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles and equipment.
  • Collect and transport waste materials from designated residential and commercial routes.
  • Maneuver vehicles in tight spaces, crowded streets, and varying weather conditions.
  • Maintain a clean and organized vehicle cab and ensure proper functioning of equipment.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, dispatch, and customers.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Complete routes on schedule and report any issues or delays.
  • Assist with loading and unloading waste as required.
  • Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal waste disposal regulations.

Required Skills

  • Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A or B.
  • Clean driving record.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks associated with waste collection (lifting, bending, climbing).
  • Strong commitment to safety procedures and protocols.
  • Excellent time management and route navigation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Punctuality and reliability.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience operating front-load, side-load, or rear-load waste collection vehicles.
  • Familiarity with waste management routes in the Pasco County area.
  • Customer service experience.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
