Job Description
Join Waste Management, Inc. as a dedicated Waste Management Driver for a significant Public Sector Contract in Wesley Chapel, Florida. This is a full-time position responsible for the safe and efficient operation of a commercial vehicle to collect and transport waste materials. You will be an essential part of our team, providing critical environmental services to the community under a contract that emphasizes reliability and community welfare. Key Responsibilities
- Operate commercial waste collection vehicles safely and efficiently, adhering to all DOT and company regulations.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles and equipment.
- Collect and transport waste materials from designated residential and commercial routes.
- Maneuver vehicles in tight spaces, crowded streets, and varying weather conditions.
- Maintain a clean and organized vehicle cab and ensure proper functioning of equipment.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, dispatch, and customers.
- Adhere to all safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Complete routes on schedule and report any issues or delays.
- Assist with loading and unloading waste as required.
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal waste disposal regulations.
Required Skills
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A or B.
- Clean driving record.
- Ability to perform physical tasks associated with waste collection (lifting, bending, climbing).
- Strong commitment to safety procedures and protocols.
- Excellent time management and route navigation skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Punctuality and reliability.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience operating front-load, side-load, or rear-load waste collection vehicles.
- Familiarity with waste management routes in the Pasco County area.
- Customer service experience.
- High School Diploma or GED.
