Job Description

In this pivotal role, you’ll be the face of Currys, visiting customers in their homes to set up, troubleshoot, and provide expert guidance on Google-related smart home devices and other home technology. Key Responsibilities

  • Travel to customer homes within the Rotherham and South Yorkshire region to provide in-person technical support and setup services.
  • Install, configure, and troubleshoot Google smart home devices (e.g., Google Nest products, Chromecast) and other related home technology.
  • Educate customers on how to use their new devices and optimize their smart home experience.
  • Perform diagnostic checks and resolve connectivity issues related to Wi-Fi networks and smart devices.
  • Provide excellent customer service, ensuring a positive and helpful experience for every interaction.
  • Document service visits, solutions provided, and customer feedback accurately.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and company guidelines while working in customer homes.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of new Google products and smart home technologies.

Required Skills

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot and problem-solve in a practical, hands-on environment.
  • Basic understanding of home Wi-Fi networks and smart device functionality.
  • High level of professionalism and customer empathy.
  • Valid UK driving license and access to a reliable vehicle for travel to customer locations.
  • Ability to work independently and manage a daily schedule effectively.
  • Must pass a background check and drug screening.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a customer service, field service, or technical support role.
  • Familiarity with Google smart home ecosystem and products.
  • Experience with installing or setting up consumer electronics.
  • Basic electrical knowledge or comfort with minor installations (e.g., smart thermostats).
  • A passion for technology and continuous learning.
