Job Description
Join DPD as a Delivery Route Optimizer and play a pivotal role in ensuring our operations run smoothly and efficiently. This ‘Smart Working Role’ combines the best of collaborative team environments with the flexibility to manage your workflow effectively. You will be responsible for designing and implementing optimal delivery routes, reducing costs, improving delivery times, and enhancing overall customer satisfaction. We are seeking a detail-oriented individual with a keen analytical mind and a passion for logistics to help us maintain our high standards of service.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and optimize daily delivery routes using advanced routing software.
- Analyze route performance data to identify areas for improvement and efficiency gains.
- Collaborate with dispatch, drivers, and operations teams to address routing challenges and ensure timely deliveries.
- Monitor real-time delivery progress and adjust routes as necessary due to unforeseen circumstances.
- Implement strategies to reduce fuel consumption, mileage, and driver hours.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of our routing processes and systems.
- Prepare reports on routing performance, cost savings, and key operational metrics.
- Ensure compliance with all transportation regulations and company policies.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in route optimization software (e.g., ORTEC, Paragon, Roadnet).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and adapt to changing priorities.
- Solid understanding of geographical areas and logistics principles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a logistics, transport, or supply chain environment.
- Knowledge of DPD's operational systems and procedures.
- Degree or relevant qualification in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Experience with real-time tracking and telematics systems.
