Job Description
Are you an early riser with a passion for exceptional service? Fairmont Banff Springs is seeking a dedicated Breakfast Server to join our dynamic team. This unique role offers the advantage of early morning shifts, typically starting at 6 am, allowing you to enjoy your afternoons exploring the beauty of Banff. You will be responsible for providing a memorable breakfast experience for our guests, ensuring prompt and courteous service in our elegant dining setting. We are looking for individuals who are enthusiastic, attentive to detail, and committed to upholding the high standards of a world-renowned luxury hotel.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly and present menus in a clear and engaging manner.
- Take food and beverage orders accurately and efficiently, making recommendations when appropriate.
- Serve meals and beverages promptly, ensuring presentation and quality meet hotel standards.
- Anticipate guests' needs and respond to special requests or inquiries with professionalism.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dining area, including setting and clearing tables.
- Process guest payments accurately and handle cash/credit transactions.
- Collaborate effectively with kitchen staff and other team members to ensure seamless service.
- Adhere to all health, safety, and hygiene regulations.
- Assist with inventory and stocking of supplies as needed.
Required Skills
- Previous experience in a high-volume restaurant or hotel environment (minimum 6 months preferred).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask.
- Professional demeanor and appearance.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, and lift up to 25 lbs.
- Early morning availability, including weekends and holidays.
Preferred Qualifications
- Fluency in additional languages is an asset.
- Knowledge of POS systems.
- ProServe certification (or equivalent) for serving alcohol.
- Familiarity with luxury hotel service standards.
