Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Dermatology Nurse Practitioner to join our dynamic team in Rio Rancho. This role is crucial for delivering comprehensive patient care, encompassing both medical and cosmetic dermatology. The ideal candidate will possess a strong clinical background in dermatology, excellent interpersonal skills, and a commitment to patient satisfaction and safety. You will manage a diverse patient caseload, perform various dermatological procedures, and collaborate closely with our physicians and support staff to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including medical history and physical examinations specific to dermatological conditions.
- Diagnose and treat a wide range of dermatological conditions, including acne, eczema, psoriasis, skin cancer, and other skin disorders.
- Perform cosmetic procedures such as Botox, dermal fillers, laser treatments, chemical peels, and microdermabrasion.
- Educate patients on skincare, treatment plans, medication usage, and preventive measures.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests, including biopsies and lab work.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with supervising physicians.
- Document patient encounters accurately and maintain meticulous electronic health records.
- Provide pre- and post-procedure care instructions and follow-up.
- Stay current with the latest advancements in medical and cosmetic dermatology.
- Participate in team meetings, continuing education, and professional development activities.
Required Skills
- Current New Mexico NP license and Board Certification.
- Master's or Doctorate degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
- DEA registration.
- Minimum of 2 years of direct experience as a Nurse Practitioner in a dermatology setting (medical or cosmetic).
- Proficiency in performing common dermatological procedures and cosmetic treatments.
- Excellent diagnostic and clinical decision-making skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a team.
- Commitment to patient safety and ethical practice.
- Proficiency with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with a wide range of laser therapies and advanced injectable techniques.
- Certification in Dermatology Nursing (DCNP or similar).
- Bilingual proficiency (English/Spanish).
- Experience in a fast-paced, high-volume clinic environment.
