Job Description
Are you passionate about film and television, with a keen eye for detail and a knack for accurate transcription? Netflix is seeking a Beginner Subtitle Editor to join our remote team. This is an exciting entry-level opportunity for individuals with no prior experience in subtitling, providing comprehensive training to help you master the craft. You will be responsible for watching video content and accurately typing out subtitles, ensuring clarity, correct grammar, and precise timing. This 100% remote role offers flexibility and the chance to contribute to the global accessibility of our diverse content library.
Key Responsibilities
- Watch video content from various genres and languages to understand dialogue and on-screen text.
- Accurately transcribe spoken dialogue and relevant sound effects into text.
- Time subtitles precisely to match the audio and on-screen visuals.
- Ensure grammatical correctness, proper spelling, and adherence to Netflix's style guides.
- Proofread and edit your own work for quality and accuracy.
- Manage your workload effectively to meet established deadlines.
- Communicate any challenges or questions to team leads promptly.
Required Skills
- Excellent command of the English language, including grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Reliable internet connection and a quiet home office environment.
- Proficient typing skills (minimum 45 WPM).
- Basic computer literacy and comfort with online tools and software.
- Ability to concentrate for extended periods and meet deadlines.
- A passion for movies and TV shows.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with various film and TV genres.
- Experience with transcription or data entry.
- Knowledge of an additional language (not required, but a plus).
- Self-motivated and able to work independently.
