Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Database Clerk with a focus on SQL and data management to join our team in Geelong. In this on-site role, you will play a crucial part in maintaining the integrity and accessibility of our critical databases. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of SQL queries, excellent data entry skills, and a commitment to accuracy. You will be responsible for assisting with data input, running reports, ensuring data quality, and supporting various data management initiatives to contribute to efficient operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform accurate and timely data entry into various database systems.
  • Execute SQL queries to retrieve, update, and manipulate data as required for reporting and analysis.
  • Assist in maintaining database integrity and cleanliness by identifying and correcting discrepancies.
  • Generate standard and ad-hoc reports using SQL and other database tools.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure data accuracy and resolve data-related issues.
  • Document database processes and procedures.
  • Provide basic support for database users and assist with data requests.
  • Adhere to data security and confidentiality protocols.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in SQL (Structured Query Language) for data retrieval and manipulation.
  • Demonstrated experience with accurate data entry and validation.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
  • Ability to understand and follow complex instructions.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to tasks.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate's degree or higher in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with database management systems (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server).
  • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
  • Understanding of data governance principles.
