Job Description
We are urgently seeking dedicated and reliable individuals to join our kitchen team as a Dishwasher / Kitchen Steward in North Battleford. This crucial role ensures the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene in our kitchen and dining areas. You will be responsible for washing and sanitizing dishes, utensils, pots, and pans, maintaining a constant supply of clean items, and assisting with general kitchen organization. Key Responsibilities
- Operate commercial dishwashing machines safely and efficiently.
- Wash, rinse, and sanitize all tableware, glassware, cutlery, pots, pans, and kitchen utensils by hand or using dishwashers.
- Ensure a continuous supply of clean dishes, glassware, and cookware for kitchen and dining operations.
- Store clean items in their designated locations, maintaining organization.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dishwashing area, kitchen floors, and other food preparation zones.
- Assist with the receiving, unloading, and proper storage of deliveries.
- Properly dispose of trash and recycling in accordance with established procedures.
- Adhere strictly to all food safety and sanitation regulations and guidelines.
- Support other kitchen staff with basic tasks, such as food prep or fetching supplies, as needed.
Required Skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness standards.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods, bend, lift, and carry items up to 50 lbs.
- Reliability and punctuality.
- Legal eligibility to work in Canada.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a kitchen, restaurant, or hotel environment is an asset.
- Knowledge of basic food safety and sanitation procedures (e.g., Food Handler's Certificate) is an advantage.
