Job Description

Are you a hardworking, reliable individual looking to kickstart your career in the construction industry? Progressive Drywall Ltd. is seeking a dedicated Plasterer Offsider to join our fast-paced team in Burnaby. This full-time position operates Monday to Friday, offering consistent work and the opportunity to learn valuable skills from experienced tradespeople. As an Offsider, you will be an essential part of our crew, assisting plasterers with various tasks, ensuring the smooth flow of materials, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment. This role is physically demanding but incredibly rewarding for those eager to contribute and develop within a dynamic construction setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist plasterers with the preparation and application of plaster and finishing compounds.
  • Handle and transport plastering materials, tools, and equipment to and from work areas efficiently.
  • Accurately mix plastering compounds and textures according to project specifications.
  • Maintain a clean and organized worksite, including sweeping, waste removal, and diligent equipment cleaning.
  • Erect and dismantle scaffolding or work platforms safely under direct supervision.
  • Follow all company safety protocols and site regulations meticulously to ensure a secure working environment.
  • Support senior tradespeople with general site duties and material handling as required.
  • Perform minor repairs and routine maintenance on tools and equipment to ensure operational readiness.

Required Skills

  • Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting heavy materials (up to 50 lbs), bending, and standing for extended periods.
  • Strong work ethic, reliability, and a consistent commitment to punctuality.
  • Willingness to learn new techniques and take clear direction from experienced tradespeople.
  • Basic understanding of construction site safety procedures and best practices.
  • Ability to work effectively and collaboratively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Legally eligible to work in Canada.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a construction or general manual labor role is an asset.
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license and access to reliable transportation.
  • Forklift certification or prior experience operating a forklift.
  • Current First Aid certification.
