Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Shopify Developer – Senior Liquid Programmer to join our dynamic e-commerce team. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the Shopify platform, particularly Shopify Plus, and expert-level proficiency in Liquid templating language. You will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and optimizing our online stores, ensuring a seamless and high-performance shopping experience for our customers. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, problem-solving abilities, and a keen eye for user experience. You will collaborate closely with designers, product managers, and other developers to implement innovative solutions and contribute to the strategic growth of our digital presence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain custom Shopify themes and apps using Liquid, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and relevant frameworks.
  • Lead the development of new features and functionalities for Shopify Plus stores, ensuring scalability and performance.
  • Integrate third-party APIs and applications to enhance store capabilities and improve user experience.
  • Optimize website performance, loading times, and responsiveness across various devices and browsers.
  • Collaborate with UI/UX designers to translate mockups and wireframes into fully functional and visually appealing front-end experiences.
  • Perform code reviews and mentor junior developers, ensuring adherence to best practices and coding standards.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues related to Shopify platform, themes, and apps.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest Shopify features, industry trends, and e-commerce best practices.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of our development processes and tools.

Required Skills

  • Expert-level proficiency in Shopify theme development and the Liquid templating language.
  • Strong command of front-end technologies: HTML5, CSS3 (SCSS/Sass), and JavaScript (ES6+).
  • Proven experience with Shopify's APIs and custom app development.
  • Familiarity with version control systems, particularly Git.
  • Solid understanding of responsive design principles and cross-browser compatibility.
  • Experience with performance optimization techniques for e-commerce websites.
  • Ability to write clean, well-documented, and maintainable code.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Shopify Plus and its advanced features (e.g., Script Editor, Flow).
  • Knowledge of modern JavaScript frameworks (e.g., React, Vue.js) for building complex UI components.
  • Understanding of headless commerce architectures and GraphQL API.
  • Familiarity with agile development methodologies.
  • Experience with unit testing and automated testing frameworks.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Web Development, or a related field.
