Key Responsibilities

  • Participate actively in a structured paid training program to learn customs clearance processes and procedures.
  • Assist senior customs specialists with preparing and submitting customs declarations and other required documentation.
  • Learn to review import/export documentation for accuracy and compliance with national and international regulations.
  • Support the team in tracking shipments and communicating with clients regarding clearance status.
  • Assist with data entry and maintenance of records in our customs management systems.
  • Develop a strong understanding of HTS classifications, valuation, and trade agreements.
  • Collaborate with internal departments (e.g., operations, sales) to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Stay informed about changes in customs laws and regulations through continuous learning.
  • Handle administrative tasks as needed to support the customs clearance department.

Required Skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency in basic computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new processes and technologies.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • A positive attitude and a strong desire to build a career in logistics.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate's degree or some college coursework in Business, Logistics, or a related field.
  • Previous experience in an office administrative role.
  • Familiarity with international trade or supply chain concepts (even academic).
  • Bilingual abilities (especially Spanish), an advantage in the local market.
